Lambretta Kickstart shaft, Gp

This is a GP kick-start shaft and fits all later crankcase sides.

It can be fitted to Li, Sx, Tv engines as an upgrade because the GP ones are stronger but you need to machine the crankcase side to make sure this shaft sits in place properly.

The GP shaft has a length of 65mm.

Paul S on 21 Jul 2022 asked "Hi I have a uni case, do I need a gp type kickstart shaft to fit to it. I've tried a new li one but the spring that came with it rubs. But it also rubs on my spare li casing. It seems like I have to pre load the spring to much. What shaft and spring would fit Thanks"

MB Scooters Ltd replied: Uni casings need a GP shaft. If the spring hits the casing make sure its the right way round. If it stil hits machining a small groove for the spring is a great idea and often done by MB

MB Scooters Ltd replied: Two typws this GP type short and strong and the Li long thin type that break - we only keep the GP type

Martin on 12 Sep 2016 asked "The kickstart shaft states 65mm. Mine is the Sil 67.5. Do you have another part number for this please? Or will this work?"

MB Scooters Ltd replied: SIL can be longer, you just add washers on the outside.

Vincent w on 04 Apr 2016 asked "I have fitted a GP side case to my Li crankcase complete with Li ramp. It appears that the kickstart shaft is touching the bolts that secure the ramp. Should this shaft be shimmed on the inside of the side case ? This would also allow closer engagement with first gear for starting."

MB Scooters Ltd replied: Where the kickstart fits the flange needs machining by 0.5 -1.5mm using this tool MBP0124

Andrew M on 11 Feb 2009 asked "I've heard alot of bad press about some of the later batches of kickstart shafts which haven't been hardened properly and therefore they bend. Can you assure us that the shafts you are selling are not of this batch?"

MB Scooters Ltd replied: There are many manufacturers of GP kick start shafts around the world.

Our shafts are Genuine SIL Gp shafts and to date we have sold hundreds with no come back.
