does any of the shims come with the gearbox

i have a brand new layshaft Italian would that be ok for your gearbox im thinking of getting your 5 speed gear box

Mark, was going to do a 5 speed next year..price looks great so may accelerate ..right my question is..1st gear is that shorter and is 5th gear longer with even in between..That would be my ideal but 5th gear being longer is best. Hope that makes sense? Impressed if it does

Sorry not sure what you're getting at, the gear teeth are on the 'Technical' tab, ratios can be worked out from there

Yes its a straight fit onto MB, bgm or genuine layshafts. No extra shimming, different layshaft or rear hub bearings.

Hi, is the gearbox still being produced in England?

Not at the moment, byt we do have an order in with the Uk manufacturer as well

This our the MB-5 Lambretta gearbox, designed and tested by Mark Broadhurst.

Gearing suits all engine applications from a standard 125 to an all out 250 race engine.

Benefits of the MB5 gearbox:

Closer gear ratios – Five carefully spaced ratios reduce the RPM drop between gear changes, keeping the engine in its optimum powerband for improved acceleration and smoother performance.
Better acceleration and improved cruising – The additional ratio allows you to run gearing that gives strong acceleration while still providing relaxed high-speed cruising, removing the usual compromise between short and tall gearing.
