Lambretta Chain guide (slipper) top (upper) chain adjuster kit, Race-Tour MB
This MB design is probably Mark's most copied invention invented way back in 1987 and is probably the most copied part ever made for a Lambretta.
Always insist on genuine MB parts and not copies.
This item is essential in any tuned scooter and we recommend it even in a standard scooter.
This chain slipper evolved because we found that the standard Lambretta top chain slipper wasn't strong enough to do its job in a Lambretta engine and can be quite dangerous when it snaps.
We recommend leaving about 6mm play (total up and down) in your chain.
People sometimes ask for a new piece of nylon for their chain slipper when it has worn down a bit but you do not need it - the rollers of the chain will run on the nylon.
We have never seen a chain wear all the way through the nylon on one of our slippers.
These are also known as chain adjuster or chain tensioner.

'If Im using an after market top chain guide/slipper do I fit a bottom chain guide'
From our point of view as the ORIGINAL DESIGNERS there are two ways to look at it.
- If you have a reliable high mileage bike, built correctly with perfectly aligned quality sprockets and dont want to constantly strip your motor then FIT ONE!
- If youve always got your chaincase side off for a badly put together motor and adjusting the top guide or having constant clutch problems then dont fit one, its the same as a racer, you get to see if the top chain is loose and you can adjust it.
It is very important to DTI and shim up front and rear sprockets, never guess, we have see chains wear out in 200 miles, fitting a bottom guide would prevent casing wear on the bottom causing more damage if you don't know what you are doing!
