Thread insert 7/10 x 21mm, MB Steel
Thread repair insert specially designed and made for MB Scooters.
- 10 x 1.5mm outside diameter
- 7 x 1mm inside diameter
- 21mm long
- Zinc plated
Can be used as a universal repair insert or especially works on
- Lambretta crankcase end plate 7mm holes
- Can be cut down to suit inlet and exhaust studs
Requires 10mm tapping tool MBU0920.

Basic repair is like this.
- Drill out to 8.5 - 8.7mm
- Tap threads to 10 x 1.5mm
- Use a 7mm screw with plain nut, screw the insert onto the screw, lock the nut gently
- Cover the threaded screw with a strong loctite and screw the insert in with the screw untill it locks, unwind the nut and remove the screw
- You can counter bore the casting so the top hat seats flush
