Thread repair insert specially designed and made for MB Scooters for the home repairer.
Can repair threads that have pulled out where normal insert repairs do not cut clean threads.
- 7 x 1mm outside diameter
- 5 x 0.8mm inside diameter
- 7mm long
- Zinc plated
Can be used as a universal repair insert or especially works on
- Lambretta mag housing 5mm holes
- Lambretta horncastings
Requires 7mm tapping tool MBU0916

Basic repair is like this.
- Drill out to 5.8 - 6mm
- Tap threads to 7 x 1mm
- Use a 5mm screw with plain nut, screw the insert onto the screw, lock the nut gently
- Cover the threaded screw with a strong loctite and screw the insert in with the screw untill it locks, unwind the nut and remove the screw
- You can counter bore the casting so the top hat seats flush if you need to
