Lambretta Bearing, Drive side, ULTIMATE version, Race-Tour MB brand
This is a specially designed drive bearing from Mark Broadhurst and MB Scooters.
We set out to sort the common issue of drive plate seals failing and drive side bearings wearing, which can let the crank pull over towards the mag housing. This is what we came up with — our ultimate Lambretta drive bearing.
It’s a high-quality, touring-type drive side main bearing, now fitted with an additional seal. The seal is installed with the spring facing the gearbox, helping to stop gearbox oil getting into the drive plate area.
This takes some of the load off the standard crankshaft drive seal, which is still fitted as normal with the drive plate and gasket.
We’ve also increased the number of balls from 7 to 9, and they’re now ceramic. That gives better load handling and helps cope with higher revs and heat.
It fits all Series 1, 2 and 3 Lambretta engines, whether standard or tuned.
There’s also a small O-ring that sits in a groove, sealing the bearing into the casing to stop oil creeping around the back of the seal.
This builds on our existing ‘MB Race-Tour’ bearings.
- Additional drive side seal fitted to help stop oil getting into the drive plate area
- Reduces load on the standard crankshaft drive seal, improving overall sealing reliability
- Increased ball count from 7 to 9 for better load distribution
- Ceramic balls for improved strength, heat resistance and higher rev capability
- Supplied with O-ring to seal the bearing in the casing and stop oil tracking behind the seal
