I have just acquired a GP (italian) that needs new horn - I was told that is had a 12volt system fitted but how do I know if AC or DC - it does not have a battery fitted.

Chances are its a AC version which is the most common and uses no battery. If it does use a battery then it will be a DC type

Please note: the horn pictured here is for illustration purposes only, most of the DC horns coming from Italy now don't have the mounting plate at the back. and will usually be black in colour
