Thread repair insert specially designed and made for MB Scooters for the home repairer.

Can repair threads that have pulled out where normal insert repairs do not cut clean threads.

  • 7 x 1mm outside diameter
  • 5 x 0.8mm inside diameter
  • 7mm long
  • Zinc plated

Can be used as a universal repair insert or especially works on

  • Lambretta mag housing 5mm holes
  • Lambretta horncastings

Tips

Basic repair is like this.

  • Drill out to 5.8 - 6mm
  • Tap threads to 7 x 1mm
  • Use a 5mm screw with plain nut, screw the insert onto the screw, lock the nut gently
  • Cover the threaded screw with a strong loctite and screw the insert in with the screw untill it locks, unwind the nut and remove the screw
  • You can counter bore the casting so the top hat seats flush if you need to

MB Scooters Ltd replied: Depends on the hole size. But you should run a 5.8 - 6mm drill first
