Petrol filter, plastic type (fuel filter)

These days most people have their petrol tanks sandblasted while restoring their scooters.

No matter what you do you can leave residue of blasting grit in your petrol tank.

This grit can cause blockages in your carburettor and is fine enough to find it's way into your cylinder.

We have seen TS1 cylinders that have lost their plating after 500 miles because of this problem.

Fuel itself isn't above suspicion, if the tanker has just filled up the tank at the petrol station it will have stirred up the tanks and can put all sort of residues into your precious scooter.

Avoid any problems with this filter.

It is clear so you can see the fuel flowing through it and you can also see if it is starting to block up.

It is disposable so once it blocks up, you throw it away and get a new one.

Warning, fuel filters can restrict fuel flow, its always a toss up between cleaning fuel and fuel flow used in race engines.

James F on 04 Jun 2008 asked "I have a question about "Petrol filter plastic type (fuel filter)" Is this suitable for high pressure fuel injections systems and what size are the hose-ends on it? Thanks James."

MB Group, Serious Outdoors Ltd replied: Hi, without knowing what pressure you propose it's impossible to say.

It's safest for us to say we only use them in gravity fed systems.

The hose sizes are approx 75mm.
