Click image for a closer look		 We consider the best way to filter a carburettor is to fit a filter straight on the bellmouth, with a hole in the side panel if necessary. However the current trend is for full bodywork so we developed this flat panel filter. You simply stick it to the inside of your side panel (grey side to panel) and your carburettor rests against it and breathes through it. This filter will not work if you have less than 1cm clearance between the carburettor and the panel. It will also not work if there is too much clearance (like on a series 1 or 2).

1 Dom on 07 Aug 2008 asked "I have a question about "Ram air filter fits onto panel for right hand carbs" It says it's for right hand carbs, why for right hand specifically, can it be used on a standard type set up with 26mm amal and SX panels? I've got about 10-15mm gap at the bottom of the carb mouth and 20-25mm at the top. Does it work by filtering some of the air being sucked in rather than not filtering at all?"

Mark replied: We designed these filters to help with TS1 engines with the carb on the right hand side so it should also suit Imola, Monza and RB engines. Because the carb was so close to the panel we had to make these thin panel filters. These filters can be doubled up if wanted. You could easily use it for the left hand side if it suits.
