Clutch kit, 5 plate for MRB clutch assemblies


We recommend this 5 plate clutch kit to suit our MRB Race-Tour internal clutch assembly.

This kit should work quite well up around 25bhp.

It comes complete with:
  • Surflex B clutch plates
  • 3mm top plate
  • 1.5mm clutch steels MB type

  • There was a need for a mass produced precision clutch kit that worked within a budget

Tips

This clutch plate kit works with MRB internal clutch assemblies, 46 tooth MRB0759K and 47 tooth MRB0759K
 
Complete kit consists of
  • 5 x Surflex B friction plates
  • 4 x Standard 1.5mm clutch steels
  • Large clutch spring
MRB internal 4-6 plate assembly also works with various other clutch set ups
  1. You can reduce the 1.5mm to 1.2mm steels for more clearance
  2. You can use 6 x Green or Red plates with 5 x 1.2mm steels
  3. Or you can use 6 x Green or Red plates with 1.2mm steels and 2 x 1.5mm (at the bottom) 
  • Use a 3mm or 2.5mm top clutch plate
  • Always bend the tags down 20/30 degrees on the top clutch friction plate
  • Always file 1mm off the first fitted steel plate at five tags to clear fouling the pressure plate
  • Make sure both clutch friction, steel, pressure plate fit and slide up and down freely
  • Always soak clutch plates in ST90 for 24 hours before fitting

Kevin on 19 Sep 2011 asked "Is there a kit like this for 6 plate internal clutch? (I have a RaceTour crownwheel but a standard clutch spider and pressure plate that I will replace with an RaceTour spider and pressure plate.)"

MB Group, Serious Outdoors Ltd replied: If you use the MB Crownwheel, spider and pressure plate, then use 6 of either the green or red clutch plates which are thinner and the steel plate for it to fit, we do not sell these plates.

MB Group, Serious Outdoors Ltd replied: No this is the kit to suit our Race-Tour 5-6 plate clutch kit it wil be too thick for a standard clutch set up.
