Im new to the whole world of scooters and as such have no experience of scooter shops or parts dealers etc
so.. fed up with losing out on bits via ebay, and all parts being too far away from me to make collection an option, I decide to look online
at this point I found the MB website, it worked :) makes a change to the bike ones Im used to, and the legshields I wanted were on sale
even better was the fact that carriage was included, now this was looking even better
so buttons clicked and things pressed.
then to top all the greatness they turn up the next day, packed well enough to have protected a faberge egg.
a big public thank you, its certainly not the last time you will be getting money from me.
I hope that this doesnt break any forum rules, i did take a browse to see if there was any forum sponsors notes etc.
coming from the custom bike world I am very used to waiting forever for things, usually very well overpriced, arriving late or damaged, and people on the phone that dont give a toss.

just thought id take a minute out to say what a fucking great kit the RT is. Ive had TS ones since 87, tuned iron before that and lately built a lot of Mugello, Casa & RB's for people and comparing apples with i can honestly say this is the most tractable and fun engine i have used.
195 long stroked , Devtour and a 30mm Delly, Sx 200 15 x 46 its the all round best ride ive had, not the fastest and not the same as the Ts top end you built me 2 years ago but just great to ride.
On the Australian National rally today and lots of questions asked as to what it is.
Keep up the great work dont take any notice of the false forum prophets. One in particular from Australia who regularly gives negative comments on forums thought it was a good engine and i purposefully said nowt until he commented and the look on his face was gold.

Just a quick note to give you an update on the 230cc kit you did for our lad Micky who works for us.
He completed the engine the night before we were due to depart and it was with some trepidation that we set off especially considering he had to cover the trip with an tuned iron barrel. He needn't have worried : other than changing an inlet rubber stub for the carb in France, the whole show was absolutely perfect. Okay, he was with us (me on a standard Vega, and two friends on a GP150 and an Sx200) so he had the chance to run in the scooter properly at our "speeds", but once he had 500 - 600 miles under his belt, he'd blast off into the distance every now and then to free things up (and to relieve the bordem?).
He had fitted a newly restored original Smiths chronometric speedo and near Caen he managed to break it by putting the bike flat out on a straight run. It's a 90mph speedo and the needle remained stuck there - at 90mph. Go figure that one! The bike got there, did the IOW, and returned all without so much as a hiccup. Over 3600km's on a freshly built 230cc Lambretta with no probs is quite something. Whilst part of this credit goes to the lad himself (20 years old and it's his first Lambretta) as he built the whole scooter, it certainly is an advert for your work. The work on the barrel kit and the MB crank were impeccable. As Micky managed to also fall off, just 100km's from home, last weekend he had some of the bodywork off to get re-painted. Whilst he was there, he decided to strip the top end down to have a looky see at the whole show. Guess what? It's still like new.
Well done and many thanks. Micky has asked me to thank you as he doesn't speak English. People say that MB, like us at RLC, are expensive BUT with the parts you supplied him, the proof is that you get what you pay for. How many other dealers could have supplied parts like that for him to go trotting off around Europe - TROUBLE FREE? Not many I reckon is the answer.

Your confidence in the motor is less than inspiring, but yes it is running and bloody well at that!! Took it to Cobblestones in France last weekend and it never missed a beat. It's done about 4,500 miles and has been driven very hard, but I have failed to break it!!! When it does go wrong you will be the first to know!!
Runs a bit cool though, only getting to 80'c even when caned to death and when cruising at 65 sits at 60' all day long. Had an incredibly rattly gearbox after thrashing it all the way back from Amiens last year, but when I stripped it, it was fine so maybe the oil just thinned after 2 hours at 80mph+.
Really I can't fault it, it has proved itself a really good touring engine, that still out does the over inflated RB boys on the motorway! Just wish the TS I tuned myself went so well, but then again that's what I pay you for!!!
Anyway Mark, thanks again for a brilliant engine and next time I'm rich, YOU WILL BE THE FIRST TO KNOW!!!

| Thanks For Carb Help | 09/05/2007 | "I was at your shop this afternoon (Tuesday). And I got all the advice I needed. I've now fitted the 25mm PHBL that I have had for over a year, with your correct manifold and fittings.
It fits perfectly, and I cant believe the difference in the running of the engine. Its smooth, responds immediately to throttle, and even ticks over steadily.
I need to get one or two more small items to finish the carb fitting off, ie 90 degree cable elbow, fuel pipe etc etc
But can you thank your guy on the counter who served me please, and tell him that the manifold did the trick and moved the carb away from the engine mount, and the jetting seems right so far.
